USM EMERGES CHAMPION IN UMCEC 2019

A team from the School of Civil Engineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia has made the university proud in the recent University of Malaya Civil Engineering Competition 2019: Concrete Bowling. The team bagged three awards which are the Champion, Best Strength Award and 2nd Runner-Up for the Best Bowling Score Award and walked away with RM 2000 in cash and a hamper.

The competition was held at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Malaya on 4 May 2019. There were 17 teams from local universities and polytechnics participated in this competition. The main objective of the competition is to develop well-rounded students. The competition provided an opportunity for students to apply the knowledge learnt from the classroom.

The winning team was led by Lee Choon Wei and its member consisted of Lee Jian Yee, Lau Poh Yee, Phoon Kok Kin and Marco Jong Min Inn. The team was supervised by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lau Tze Liang and Prof. Dr. Megat Azmi Megat Johari and assisted by Dr. Mustafa Juma A.Mijarsh and Mr. Mohamed Omar Mohamed Mashri. Congratulations to the students and supervisors.
