PENANG, 21 June 2012 - Allayarhamah Zarina Tardan, a postgraduate student from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, who died after a road accident recently has been buried at Kampung Serom 8, Sungai Mati, Muar, Johor here today.
Allahyarhamah Zarina passed away peacefully on 21/6/2012 at approximately 4:50 pm in the Neurology ICU ward, Penang Hospital. Her remains arrived at the compound of Khalid Al-Malik Mosque in USM Campus at 8:40 pm to be bathed, enshrouded and with prayers offered before being taken back to her hometown by a USM van.
The funeral van left the Khalid Al-Malik Mosque about 10.30 pm, accompanied by the prayers and tears of her friends. Among those who came to pay their last respects were the Vice-Chancellor's wife, Datin Noraizan Jamaludin and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (BHEPP), Prof. Adnan Hussein and his wife, University officials, relatives and friends.
Allahyarhamah Zarina Tardan was involved in a road accident at the roundabout near the Queensbay Mall on June 15, 2012 when her motorcycle collided with a car. Her sister, Roziah Tardan, a Year 3 student at School of Education, who was riding pillion at the time of the accident, only sustained minor injuries.
