eng@USM FLAGSHIP RUGBY TOURNAMENT

NIBONG TEBAL, 13 Mei 2016 – Rugby is an international sport which accumulates scores through kicking, throwing or carrying the ball until it could be kicked pass the opponent’s goal or by touching behind the opponent’s line.

The team with the most points would be declared as the winner in each game.

Given the opportunity, Engineering Campus, University Sains Malaysia (USM) recently has succeeded in organizing the twelfth rugby 10s tournament with the students at the helm of the organizing management along with the assistance of the university’s sports unit officers.

Assistant Vice-Chancellor, Engineering Campus, USM, Professor Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah in the tournament Post Mortem Meeting said the program should be turned into the campus flagship.

“I am confident that the tournament can be made an eng@USM flagship like the Career Fair program which we organize each year”, he said to the tournament exco at the Director’s Office Meeting Room here today.

He also suggested for the organizer to provide program books to ensure that the tournament that has entered its twelfth year would have organizing records and information as well as archives.

He further added the program book could also be sold to the players and visitors during future tournaments as the club’s income.

‘We must view this organization at a global and bigger scale with the involvement from Asian level teams as well as international”, he stressed.

The USM Rugby 10s, a compulsory event each year at the Engineering Campus is highly anticipated by local rugby fans with the participation of more than 40 teams each year.
