NI ARC, A PLATFORM FOR STUDENTS TO GAIN AN INNOVATIVE LEARNING EXPERIENCE

NIBONG TEBAL, 26 NOVEMBER 2022 - NI Autonomous Robotics Competition Championship Round (NI ARC) 2022 is offering a great platform for students to have an innovative learning experience with the industry.

That was said by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Research & Innovation, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Professor Dato’ Dr. IR. Abdul Rahman Mohamed during his closing remarks at the Grand Finale of the championship at the USM Engineering Campus today.

“We are delighted to be able to partner with NI once again for the NI ARC as we share a common vision to expand student’s capabilities in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics through NI ARC,” said Professor Dato’ Dr. IR. Abdul Rahman.

“With the theme ‘Robots in Medical Industry: The Next Generation Saviors’, I hereby believe this programme will bring significant impact and beneficial outcomes to our future graduates, while they designed robots that will be performing tasks for the application of advanced medical treatment and enhancing patient’s experience,” he said.

Furthermore, it was a successful opportunity from National Instruments (NI) as well as the collaborative support of our team from SAINS@USM, Engineering Campus Director Office, School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Society of Electrical & Electronic Engineering (SEE) and the rest of the team, which was what made this event a success.

“Over and above, this programme will also be the right avenue to drive us at USM towards providing the platform to inspire and empower students through the sharing of industry knowledge and experience by the industry leaders.”

“I hoped a programme like this will inspire our young generation as well as strengthening the collaboration between the university, industry and the community in the future,” he added.

In Ni ARC 2022, a total of 65 students from 13 teams comprising of students from USM, UPM, UTM, UKM, UNIMAP, UTP, UTAR, PSDC and Kolej Kemahiran Tinggi Mara (KKTM), Balik Pulau participated in this competition.

The selected teams must undergo specialized training for 6 months, where two teams with the best performance will be shortlisted and compete in the Championship Round to win the competition.
