VC’S ADDRESS 2016-APEX 2020: REALISING A GLOBAL UNIVERSITY

NIBONG TEBAL, 16 January 2016 – More than 400 Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) staff attended the presentation of the Vice-Chancellor’s 2016 Address entitled APEX 2020: Realising a Global University held at the Auditorium, Engineering Campus, USM here today.

According to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Dr. Omar Osman said, USM continues to forge a name in the world of e-book exploration, offshore programme offers locally and abroad.

“The various successes and graduates produced through collaboration with various parties from abroad for the first degree such as medical science, as well as post graduates offers”, said Omar.

He added, the collaboration is also achieved in strengthening and aging science research with the institutions and various parties in Japan.

“Other than that, for the training programme, the Center for Innovation and Productivity in Public Administration (PIPPA) in recent years has been carrying out international collaboration in the Middle East countries such as Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Turkey and most recently in Europe”, said Omar further.

At the same ceremony, USM Vice-Chancellor also presented letters of appointments to all the deans, directors, coordinators and penggawa for the 2016 until 2018 appointments, Engineering Campus.

The event was also graced with a multimedia presentation and a presentation of souvenirs to the former Campus Director, Professor Dr. Zainal Arifin Mohd Ishak as a token of appreciation for spearheading the Engineering Campus from January 2013 till December 2015.

Also present at the ceremony are Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Industry and Community Network, Professor Dato’ Dr. See Ching Mey, USM Registrar, Professor Dr. Abd Aziz Tajuddin, Campus Director, Engineering Campus, Professor Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah, Deans and university officials.
