EXCITEMENT BUILDS AS USM INTRASCHOOL CHEM-E CAR COMPETITION 2024 RETURNS!

NIBONG TEBAL, 29 May 2024 – The return of the highly anticipated Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Intraschool Chem-E Car Competition 2024 in its second year has generated significant enthusiasm and interest among students at Engineering Campus today.

The USM Intraschool Chem-E Car Competition 2024 emphasizes collaboration and teamwork among participants, serves not only as a platform for students to demonstrate their engineering prowess but also helps identify potential representatives for the national-level Chem-E Car competition.

In a welcome statement, the Campus Director of Engineering, Professor Datin Dr. Azlina Harun @ Kamaruddin expressed her satisfaction at the high level of interest in this esteemed event.

"This event is a fantastic opportunity for our students to showcase their creativity and innovation," said Azlina.

"By designing and constructing shoebox-sized cars powered by chemical energy, participants can gain insight into the latest technological advancements and enhance public awareness of the chemical engineering discipline among industry leaders, educators, and fellow students," she added.

In reflecting on the competition, Azlina, who also served as the former Dean of the School of Chemical Engineering, expressed her pride, noting that she is immensely proud of this competition and the remarkable talent it brings together.

"In the future, it is my hope that this event will expand beyond the boundaries of our institution, gaining even greater recognition and participation at the highest levels." she said.

All participants were competing for a number of prizes, which were distributed across several categories included the Champion, First Runner-up, Second Runner-up, and Jury’s Special Award.
