SCHOOL OF MATERIALS AND MINERAL RESOURCES ENGINEERING STUDENTS HAVE BEEN AWARDED ENTEGRIS STEM SCHOLARSHIPS WORTH USD 10,000

NIBONG TEBAL, 19 December 2024 – Entegris (M) Sdn. Bhd. reaffirmed its commitment to fostering the next generation of innovators at the STEM Scholarship Award Ceremony, organised by the School of Materials and Mineral Resources Engineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM).

The ceremony recognised the achievements of two second-year materials engineering students from the School of Materials and Mineral Resources Engineering, Gan Min Hui and Nor Anisanadia Mat Yusoff, who were awarded scholarships valued at USD 10,000.

In her remarks, Senior Director of the Business Service Centre, Madam Lo Pui Yoke, underscored Entegris (M) Sdn. Bhd.'s dedication to fostering the growth of gifted individuals through educational opportunities.

"Entegris' decision to provide scholarships is not merely an act of generosity.

"It is a statement of belief, belief in the potential of young minds, the transformative power of education and the value of nurturing talent, especially among financially needy and underrepresented students," said Madam Lo.

Furthermore, she highlighted that the scholarships encompass more than mere financial aid, offering students a sense of being seen, valued, and supported throughout their academic pursuits.

"This support enables students to focus on their studies, strive for excellence, and confidently pursue their ambitions without the burden of financial stress," she added.

On behalf of the Dean of the school, the Deputy Dean (Research, Innovation, and Industry-Community Engagement), Associate Professor Dr. Raa Khimi Shuib, expressed gratitude to Entegris for their unwavering support.

"We have selected the two most meritorious students for this scholarship.

"We believe that this initiative will assist students in focusing on their studies while also strengthening the relationship between the school and industry," he said.

Also present were the Program Chairman of Materials Engineering at the School of Materials and Mineral Resources Engineering, Associate Professor Ir. Ts. Dr. Hasmaliza Mohamad, the Manager of Corporate Affairs & Positioning at the School of Materials and Mineral Resources Engineering, Associate Professor Dr. Khairul Anuar Shariff, Senior HR Manager of Entegris (M) Sdn. Bhd., Madam Lorinna Loo, and the HR Business Partner of Entegris (M) Sdn. Bhd., Madam Eleen Lye.
