VILLA INTERNATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL (MALDIVES) EMBARKS ON AN INSPIRING JOURNEY AT ENGINEERING CAMPUS OF USM

NIBONG TEBAL, 23 February 2024 – Today, in a momentous event, Villa International High School from the Maldives has dignified the Engineering Campus of Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and gave a unique opportunity for both institutions.

While the Director of the Engineering Campus, Professor Datin Dr. Azlina Harun @ Kamaruddin, expressed her honour in welcoming the entourage, the visit had promised a day filled with knowledge sharing and experiences to the students, as well as the teachers.

“The day would be characterized by insightful discussions, engaging activities, and memorable moments that would contribute to the mutual growth of both educational entities,” says Azlina during the opening speech.

“As they explore the USM Engineering Campus, I would like to encourage them all to absorb valuable insights into the world of engineering.

“I hope, they would be witnessing the passion and dedication of the academics, staff, and students at our campus throughout the visit too,” she added.

The one-day visit includes immersive experiences that was designed in providing the invaluable insights into the innovations and achievements, that defined the campus where they delved deep into the heart of cutting-edge research, innovation, and exploration within the different field of Engineering. 

Azlina, during the speech had also encouraged the participants to ask questions, be active, and have full immersion in the wealth of knowledge throughout the visit while making connections, inspiring innovation, and deepening understanding of the central role of engineering of the world.

In closing, the director had expressed her hope that the visit to the USM Engineering Campus provides a deep insight into the dynamic world of engineering as they can directly interact with brilliant professionals and absorbing the spirit of innovation that defines the institution.

“Let the facilities, laboratories, and interactive sessions spark your curiosity and passion for the endless possibilities in the field of engineering,” she said.

“Hopefully, the experience gained from this visit would become a source of inspiration and guide you in your academic and professional endeavours.

“May the seeds of curiosity and passion that we shared during this visit bloom into a future you that rich with innovation and success,” Azlina added.

A research centre and two schools from Engineering Campus were involved in the visit which are the Science and Engineering Research Centre (SERC), the School of Chemical Engineering and the School of Aerospace Engineering.
