MUSA MOHAMAD LIBRARY RECEIVES STPM AND MUET REFERENCE BOOKS TO SUPPORT FORM SIX EDUCATION
NIBONG TEBAL, June 19 — The Musa Mohamad Library at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Engineering Campus today received a donation of STPM and MUET reference books in a brief handover ceremony held on site.
The contribution, initiated by the Minister of Education YB Puan Fadhlina Sidek through the Malaysian Examinations Council (MPM), aims to support the academic needs of Form Six (KTE) students recently enrolled under a new pre-university programme at the campus.
This book handover is part of the ongoing implementation of the Form Sixth Education Programme (KTE) at USM, introduced on 10 June through a strategic collaboration between the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) and the Ministry of Education (MOE).
In his speech, Principal of Kolej Tingkatan Enam Desa Murni, Tuan Haji Adnan Idris, expressed deep appreciation to USM for hosting Form Six students on campus, calling it a historic step in bridging school-level and university-level education.
“Our students follow the new STPM curriculum, which makes older textbooks no longer relevant,” he stated.
“This contribution ensures that they are equipped with updated and suitable materials,” he said.
He also urged teachers to ensure all students make full use of the library facilities throughout their academic stay at USM.
“We are the only institution to have received this contribution, which reflects a strong endorsement from the Ministry and sets a positive benchmark for others,” he added.
Puan Mazainun Aini Mohd Zain, Head of the Musa Mohamad Library, also spoke at the event. Representing the Deputy Chief Librarian, she expressed gratitude for the support and welcomed students and educators to make use of the library’s resources.
“We appreciate this generous contribution and hope the books will be fully utilised by the Form Six students, as our doors remain open to them and their teachers throughout their time at USM,” she said.
