SERC CROWNED CHAMPION OF KKTSS 2026 “KLIK AIDILFITRI” PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION, DIRECTOR'S OFFICE TOPS USED BANNER COLLECTION CONTEST

NIBONG TEBAL, 22 June 2026 - The Science and Engineering Research Centre (SERC) was crowned champion of the KKTSS 2026 “Klik Aidilfitri” Photography Competition, while the Director's Office emerged as the winner of the KKTSS 2026 Used Banner Collection Contest.

The winners of both competitions were announced and prizes were presented by the Campus Director, Professor Ir. Dr. Mariatti Jaafar @ Mustapha, during the Campus Management Committee Meeting held today.

Both competitions were organised by the Director's Office of the Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Engineering Campus, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), as part of efforts to foster a stronger sense of togetherness among campus staff while promoting sustainability and environmental stewardship.

The KKTSS 2026 “Klik Aidilfitri” Photography Competition was held in conjunction with the 2026 Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration and was open to all Departments at the Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Engineering Campus.

Carrying the theme “Riang Ria Aidilfitri”, the competition highlighted the creativity of campus staff in capturing and expressing the festive spirit of Aidilfitri in the workplace.

To ensure that the spirit of togetherness was reflected in every entry, participating photographs were required to involve at least 60 percent of the department's staff, be original works produced by the respective department, and be taken in 2026.

Entries were evaluated by two invited judges from the Media and Public Relations Centre, Main Campus, namely Designer Muhammad Nazer Abdul Hadi and Photographer Mohd Fairus Md Isa.

Based on the judges' assessment, SERC secured first place, followed by the Office of the Director of the Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Engineering Campus in second place, while the SWA-Accreditation Center claimed third place.

Meanwhile, the KKTSS 2026 Used Banner Collection Contest was organised to encourage sustainable practices and raise awareness among campus staff on the importance of environmental conservation through more responsible management of used materials.

Winners were determined based on the total weight and quantity of used banners collected by each department throughout the competition period.

The Director's Office emerged as champion after recording the highest collection of used banners, amounting to 17.3 kg. Second place went to the Musa Mohamad Library with a collection of 16.7 kg, while the Islamic Centre secured third place with a total collection of 15.4 kg.
