RAPID PENANG SERVICE MAKES ITS WAY INTO USM

PENANG, 11 Dec.2017 – The Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Engineering Campus community could now have better access to the public bus services with Rapid Penang launching its Route 804 service that would ply the campus grounds and onwards to Parit Buntar - Nibong Tebal starting today.

The Director of the USM Engineering Campus, Professor Dr Nor Azazi Zakaria said, this effort would provide another form of convenience to the campus community to commute to areas beyond the campus grounds.

"The campus community has been awaiting such a service, which would also benefit the surrounding community as it would serve the areas where previously such a service was non-existent," he said.

Chief Operations Officer of Rapid Penang, Mohd Azmi Abdullah also said, they would be fully committed in serving the needs of the community with the service of transit buses.

“Our priority has always been in providing comfort to the commuters, in addition to offering services which could further promote the economic growth in certain areas," he added.

At the event, the guests-of-honour were also offered a ride on the Rapid Penang bus travelling on Route 804 through areas such as Jalan Belatuk, Bukit Panchor, Ampang Jajar, Pekaka, Padang, Sekolah onwards to the Parit Buntar Bus Terminal and back.
