SPM EXCELLENCE PROGRAMME 2025 INSPIRES STUDENTS AT USM ENGINEERING CAMPUS

NIBONG TEBAL, 13 August 2025 - The School of Chemical Engineering (PPKK) in collaboration with the Office of the Director, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Engineering Campus, hosted the SPM Excellence Programme 2025 for students from SMK Bagan Serai.

In his welcoming speech, the Dean of PPKK, Profesor Ir. Dr. Zainal Ahmad emphasised the importance of planning for the future strategically, particularly over the next five to ten years.

“Choose a field with high graduate employability, particularly those focused on STEM and plan carefully and set clear goals to achieve success in the future,” he advised.

He also expressed his appreciation to SMK Bagan Serai for selecting PPKK as the venue for this programme and hoped that the visit would not be the first nor the last.

Meanwhile, the Principal of SMK Bagan Serai, Puan Hajah Yani Binti Kimi, encouraged students to seize as many opportunities as possible throughout the programme with the experts from the USM Engineering Campus.

“Opportunities like this are rare," said Yani.

"To be in a university environment and to gain direct insights from selected lecturers is truly valuable,” she said.

The programme featured interactive sessions, motivational talks, and exposure to engineering disciplines, aiming to inspire students to excel in their upcoming SPM examinations.
