COUNTDOWN BEGINS FOR HARI WARGA STAF 2025

NIBONG TEBAL, Aug 14, 2025 – Anticipation is mounting for Universiti Sains Malaysia’s (USM) Hari Warga Staf (HWS) 2025, with the Kampus Kejuruteraan in Nibong Tebal all set to host the celebrations from August 15 to 16.

This year’s edition will feature five contingents, Pipit Hutan (Engineering Campus), Merbah Surih (Main Campus), Sambar Kuning (Health Campus), Pekaka Udang (USM Specialist Hospital) and Pucung Harimau (Advanced Medical and Dental Institute).

USM Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dato’ Seri Ir. Dr. Abdul Rahman Mohamed expressed hope that HWS 2025 would foster sportsmanship among staff and ensure all competitions are carried out with dedication, discipline and mutual respect.

“HWS is an opportunity for us to strengthen ties between campuses, forge new friendships and deepen existing bonds,” he said, adding that he hoped all participants would give their best by applying the skills, strategies and teamwork honed during training.

“May the drive to succeed be the main motivation, without losing sight of integrity and the true fighting spirit,” he added.

Meanwhile, Kampus Kejuruteraan Director and HWS 2025 Main Committee Chairperson Prof. Ir. Dr. Mariatti Jaafar @ Mustapha welcomed all contingents from the four other campuses, expressing hope that their presence would add colour to the festivities.

“As hosts, we want participants to enjoy healthy and spirited competition while creating lasting memories here in Nibong Tebal, Penang,” she said.

The two-day event will feature bowling, HWSRUN25, Hook Me Up, HUNT NGINEERS: Nuts, Bolts & Brains, Hora Hore Sportiva, TENTnovasi Harmoni, La La Loud, Masterchef, Rope Warriors and the Pentas Malam Galau evening showcase.
