SENAMROBIK PERDANA PROGRAM ENLIVENS USM ENGINEERING CAMPUS’ 25TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

NIBONG TEBAL, 16 January 2026 - Approximately 200 members of the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Engineering Campus community gathered today to enliven the Premier Aerobics Programme held in conjunction with the 25th Anniversary Celebration of the USM Engineering Campus in Nibong Tebal.

Director of the USM Engineering Campus, Professor Ir. Dr. Mariatti Jaafar @ Mustapha, said the programme was highly significant as it not only promotes a healthy lifestyle, but also serves as one of the key activities marking the campus’ 25th anniversary in 2026.

According to her, the programme also featured the announcement of winners for the Santai Sihat @ Kejuruteraan USM Programme, an initiative introduced by the Office of the Director in collaboration with the Engineering Campus Health Unit to foster health and fitness practices among the campus community.

“The Santai Sihat @ Kejuruteraan Programme received 90 participants, with registration open from 1 to 7 March 2025, and was implemented over a period of 10 months,” said Professor Ir. Dr. Mariatti.

“The final measurements were conducted from 8 to 12 December 2025, after which 12 winners were selected based on established criteria and assessments,” she added.

The Santai Sihat @ Kejuruteraan Programme saw Noor Hasliza Wan Chik from the School of Chemical Engineering emerge as the overall winner, followed by Julia Ahmad from the Registrar’s Department in second place, and Intan Faezah Darul Izham from the River Engineering and Urban Drainage Research Centre (REDAC) in third place.

In her address, the Campus Director also congratulated all participants and winners for their commitment and discipline throughout the programme, while expressing hope that the Santai Sihat @ Kejuruteraan initiative would continue and be expanded by other departments at the Engineering Campus in the future.
