KKTSS USM GATHERS 181 ATHLETES AT NORTHERN VARSITY ULTIMATE CROWN 4.0

NIBONG TEBAL, 11 April 2026 - The Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Engineering Campus (KKTSS), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), played host to the Northern Varsity Ultimate Crown (NVUC) 4.0, successfully bringing together approximately 181 athletes from universities and secondary schools across the northern region.

Organised by Secretariat Frisbee, the tournament was driven by the dedication and leadership of the Boltz Ultimate team, which played a key role in the planning and execution of the overall event, said Head of the Administrative Unit of the Student Development and Alumni Affairs Division (BHEPA) of KKTSS, Mohd Hafiz Ali Mohd Anuar, during the closing ceremony.

According to him, the primary objective of NVUC 4.0 was to strengthen relationships among teams in the northern region, while promoting the growth and development of Ultimate Frisbee at both university and secondary school levels.

“Each team demonstrated strong teamwork, agility and a high level of sportsmanship throughout the tournament despite challenging weather conditions,” he said.

He added that the commitment shown by the organising team, particularly Boltz Ultimate, reflected the increasing interest and growing level of professionalism within the local Ultimate Frisbee community.

The tournament featured participation from eight competitive teams, namely Skyking from Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), Utara Blues from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), Aerofoil from AIMST University, Poachers Legacy from SMK Putra, Thunderbirds from Albukhary International University (AIU), Raglan Hawk from UiTM Pulau Pinang Branch Campus (CPP), as well as TF Meteor and Mini Cyclones representing Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Puan Raja Muda Tengku Fauziah and several nearby secondary schools in Perlis.

In Pool A, TF Meteor emerged as the overall champion, followed by Thunderbirds as the first runner-up and Aerofoil in third place. Meanwhile, Utara Blues were crowned champions of Pool B.
