CO-CURRICULAR PROGRAMME CENTRE KKTSS ORGANISES CREDITED CO-CURRICULAR CULTURAL NIGHT TO SHOWCASE STUDENTS’ TALENTS AND UNITY

PENANG, 15 May 2026 - The Cultural Night, Static Exhibition and Performance Demonstration for Credited Co-Curricular Courses, organised under the WSC127 Event Management course, successfully gathered approximately 500 students in a vibrant programme held on 13 May.

The programme, themed “Various Cultures, One Rhythm of Unity”, was organised to fulfil the requirements of the WSC127 course under the Co-Curricular Programme Centre of the Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Engineering Campus, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) for the 2024/2025 Academic Session.

Deputy Director of the Co-Curricular Programme Centre at the Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Engineering Campus, Professor Madya Dr. Mohd Salman Abu Mansor said the programme successfully highlighted the talents and new skills of engineering students from various disciplines and years of study.

According to him, the programme not only fulfilled the requirements of the University Course and General Studies Subject Group U4 (MPU4), but also helped develop students’ soft skills and personal character.

“This programme successfully nurtured teamwork, leadership and mutual respect among students under the guidance of experienced and dedicated Part-Time Co-Curricular Instructors (TPSK),” he said.

He added that the credited co-curricular courses undertaken by students were aligned with the Course Learning Outcomes (CLO) focusing on culture and volunteerism in line with the university’s APEX agenda and the aspirations of Malaysia Madani.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Sports and Culture Programme at the Co-Curricular Programme Centre, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Engineering Campus, Professor Madya Dr. Azam Taufik Mohd Din said he was impressed by the students’ creativity and confidence during their stage performances.

“Although they only attended the credited co-curricular course for one semester, the students managed to master the essential skills while demonstrating strong focus, performance discipline and close teamwork both on stage and behind the scenes,” he said.

He also expressed his appreciation to the WSC127 students for successfully organising the programme.

Among the cultural performances and demonstrations featured throughout the programme were modern theatre, choir, Seni Silat Cekak, kompang berlagu, guitar performances as well as performances by the PALAPES Air Force, Army and Navy teams.
