KKTSS PROMOTES HEALTHY LIFESTYLE THROUGH “GLOW IN THE DARK” AEROBICS PROGRAMME

NIBONG TEBAL, 15 May 2026 - The Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Engineering Campus (KKTSS), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), continues to promote healthy lifestyle practices through its “Glow in the Dark” themed aerobics programme.

The programme, which attracted 250 participants, was a continuation of the monthly Mega Aerobics Programme held in conjunction with the 25th Anniversary celebration of KKTSS, which has been conducted regularly from January until the end of this year.

Jointly organised by the Registrar Department, Bursary Department and Security Department, this edition featured a unique Glow in the Dark concept, creating a more interactive and engaging atmosphere for campus members to stay active while embracing a healthy lifestyle.

Senior Assistant Registrar of the Registrar Department and Chairperson of the 25th Anniversary Aerobics Programme Organising Committee, Hafiz Assad Zakaria, expressed appreciation for the strong support shown by the campus community in making the programme a success.

“I hope initiatives like this can continue to be organised in the future,” he said.

The programme also featured a health-sharing session delivered by Dr. Sakinah Md Yusof, Medical Officer of the Health Unit at the Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Engineering Campus, aimed at raising awareness on the importance of healthcare among campus residents.

The event was further enlivened with awards for the most outstanding participants and the most sporting department.

For the individual category, the three outstanding male participants were Muhammad Syamim Abdul Razak (JPPF), Mohd Fouzi Ali (School of Civil Engineering) and Mohd Saiful Hasli Azizan (SERC), while the three outstanding female participants were Noren Asfarina Halim (Registrar Department), Nooraini Redzuan (Bursary Department) and Ismarulhaida Ismail (Co-Curriculum Programme Centre). The award for the most sporting department was won by the Science and Engineering Research Centre (SERC).

Also present were the Dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering, Associate Professor Dr. Abdullah Aziz Saad; Head of the School of Languages, Literacies and Translation (PPBLT) Programme at KKTSS, Ajuntha a/p Kuppan; SERC Coordinator, Hariy Pauzi; Chief Assistant Bursar of the KKTSS Bursary Department, Ismail Jamaluddin; and Senior Security Officer of the KKTSS Security Department, Mohd Isshak Mohd Isa.
