USM'S TUANKU SYED SIRAJUDDIN ENGINEERING CAMPUS WELCOMES VISIT FROM SMK ZAINAB 1

NIBONG TEBAL, 6 August 2026 - A total of 70 students accompanied by eight teachers from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Zainab 1, Kota Bharu, Kelantan, visited Universiti Sains Malaysia's (USM) Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Engineering Campus (KKTSS) today as part of an educational study visit.
The delegation was welcomed by the Campus Director, Professor Ir. Dr. Mariatti Jaafar @ Mustapha, who delivered a special briefing on USM and KKTSS, covering the University's academic programmes, campus facilities and engineering education opportunities.
The visit aimed to provide students with early exposure to the learning environment at a higher education institution, particularly in engineering and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education.
During the visit, the students toured the School of Aerospace Engineering and the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, where they had the opportunity to explore laboratory facilities and gain insights into the teaching, learning and research activities carried out at both schools.
Commenting on the visit, the Campus Director expressed her hope that the experience would inspire the students to excel in STEM-related fields and encourage them to pursue their higher education at Universiti Sains Malaysia in the future.
