PPBLT KKTSS ORGANISES INTENSIVE “MUMTAZ” ARABIC LANGUAGE WORKSHOP FOR UPKK

NIBONG TEBAL, 3 September 2026 - The Foreign Languages Division, School of Languages, Literacies and Translation (PPBLT), Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Engineering Campus (KKTSS), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) successfully organised the “Mumtaz” Intensive Arabic Language Workshop for UPKK.

The workshop involved 22 Year Five pupils from Nibong Tebal and Parit Buntar as part of their preparation for the Ujian Penilaian Kelas KAFA (UPKK) examination.

Conducted by Ustaz Mohammad Najib Mat Basir, the workshop focused on strengthening participants’ mastery of Arabic vocabulary or mufradat, as well as developing their skills in answering Arabic language examination questions to help them prepare more systematically.

In addition to improving language proficiency, the workshop was designed to enhance cognitive skills, strengthen foreign language literacy and minimise common mistakes made by candidates when answering examination questions.

To help participants achieve the target grade of A or Mumtaz, they were guided through three interactive modules. The first module, “إِتقانُ المُفردات”, focused on mastering 50 commonly used vocabulary words and identifying Isim, Fi‘il and Harf.

The second module, “صانِع الجُمل”, focused on basic sentence construction formulas, including the use of Muzakkar and Muannas, while the “بطَل الاختبار” module introduced strategic techniques for answering examination questions.

The organisation of the workshop reflects PPBLT’s commitment to contributing to the educational development of the local community through foreign language learning, while supporting Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education.

The programme is expected to boost participants’ confidence in facing the examination while fostering a positive interest in learning and mastering foreign languages.
