RESEARCH ON THE GO 2026 STRENGTHENS RESEARCH SUPPORT FOR USM RESEARCH COMMUNITY

NIBONG TEBAL, 14 October 2026 - Universiti Sains Malaysia’s (USM) Musa Mohamad Library continues to strengthen its role as a strategic partner in academic research through the organisation of Research on the Go (ROTG) 2026.
Held in conjunction with Hari Bersama Pelanggan 2026, the programme aims to provide research support and consultation services to the university community, particularly undergraduate and postgraduate students, academic staff and researchers.
In line with current research needs, ROTG 2026 offers guidance on literature searches and scholarly resources, reference management using software such as Mendeley, scholarly publishing strategies, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools for literature searches and academic writing, Microsoft Word thesis templates, Google Scholar and researcher profile management.
The initiative provides participants with an opportunity to obtain tailored guidance on various research needs, including the preparation of theses, dissertations, research projects, scholarly publications and academic assignments.
At the same time, the programme encourages the effective use of information resources and digital technologies to improve research quality and academic writing skills.
A key feature of the programme is its consultation-based approach, which focuses on the specific needs of participants.

Through the guidance sessions, participants can receive support in information searching, bibliography management, scholarly writing and publication preparation, helping them carry out their research more systematically.
The programme also targets individuals seeking to strengthen their research and academic writing skills, including those who wish to improve their proficiency in using databases, scholarly search platforms and relevant digital tools.
To facilitate participation, interested individuals are encouraged to register for consultation slots to gain more structured access to the research support services offered.
The organisation of Research on the Go 2026 reflects USM Library’s commitment to expanding its services beyond the traditional provision of reference materials towards a more dynamic role as a centre for research support, information literacy development and the advancement of a knowledge culture.
Through initiatives such as this, the library continues to engage with the academic community by providing services that are relevant, accessible and responsive to technological developments and current research needs.
The initiative is expected to help nurture more skilled and independent researchers who are better equipped to produce high-quality research and academic writing.
